Delta Dental Dentist – Dallas, TX

How You Can Save with Delta Dental Insurance

Does your at-home oral hygiene routine reflect the way you feel about preventive care? If you’re not seeing your dentist for regular dental checkups and cleanings twice a year, your smile is likely to be at an increased risk of developing more serious oral health problems in the future. As a policyholder with Delta Dental, you’re encouraged to keep these appointments not only because of their ability to minimize tooth decay and gum disease but also because they are largely covered by your insurance company! As a Delta Dental dentist in Dallas, we invite you to call our office and schedule your next appointment today.

Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees

At Skillman Family Dentistry, we negotiate with many different insurance companies so that our patients don’t have to worry about paying high out-of-pocket costs. Based on the agreed-upon fees and terms, preventive and restorative treatment can be possible for many who struggle to afford quality oral healthcare.

If you have a Delta Dental plan, your deductible, annual maximum, and monthly premium may be different than your colleague’s or friend’s; however, the benefits of seeing an in-network dentist tend to follow the same 100-80-50 structure:

  • 100% routine services (i.e., dental exams and cleanings)
  • 80% basic services (i.e., dental fillings, root canals, or tooth extractions)
  • 50% major services (i.e., dental crowns, dental bridges, or dental implants)

If someone in your family requires orthodontic treatment, your plan may or may not cover it. As a result, you might need to purchase a separate policy that covers braces. Also, you will notice that cosmetic care is not part of your available benefits. This is because these services are considered “elective” and are not considered medically necessary, which is why your insurance company will not pay for treatment.

When filing a claim with Delta Dental, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve already met your deductible, as this is required before your available benefits can kick in. Once this amount is met, you can expect to pay significantly less for the restorative treatment you receive. But remember that your annual maximum will also be something your insurer will look at when determining how much they will pay.
